This role involves meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, and creating a classroom environment conducive to learning. The instructor is responsible for preparing lessons, encouraging student behavior standards, guiding the learning process, employing various instructional techniques, and assessing student accomplishments. The position also requires diagnosing learning disabilities, making safety precautions, maintaining records, assisting administration with policies, and developing classroom rules. Additionally, the instructor will be available to students and parents, supervise instructional aides and volunteers, and strive for professional competence. A unique requirement is the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at a novice level of proficiency.
