Requirements
- Able to work weekends
- Reliable means of transportation to the village (there is no bus route available)
- Passion for or interest in local history
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Enjoy speaking with the public
- Comfortable and willing to wear era-appropriate attire while working in the Village
- A Vulnerable Sector Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Engage visitors through interpretations to the public of 19th century residences and businesses, including live demonstrations of historic crafts, cooking, baking, trades & activities.
- Wear era-appropriate attire and receive training on heritage demonstrations and trades to create an immersive living history experience.
- Conduct tours and participate in heritage programming, for both small and large groups of visitors, and take on tasks within historical buildings, retail spaces, and food services areas.
- Assisting with cleaning duties required in all the different buildings and helping with any tasks required for special events.
