About The Position

The Landscaping Laborer performs grounds-maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, mulching, planting, and seasonal cleanup to keep client properties attractive, healthy, and well maintained. This role is part of a full-service facility company, and all field employees are cross-trained to support the complete range of services provided to clients. Depending on season, weather, and daily work orders, the employee may be assigned to assist with landscaping, janitorial services, litter and debris pickup, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/flagging, and other services as needed. Snow and ice removal is a mandatory duty for every employee, regardless of primary role, when winter weather events occur.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including winter weather.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license required and a reliable, dependable form of transportation daily (early work start times).
  • Willingness and ability to cross-train and work across all PFS service lines, including mandatory snow removal.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including snow and ice.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in property appearance.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Adaptability to shift between janitorial, snow removal, litter/debris, and MOT duties as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous landscaping or grounds-maintenance experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
  • Plant, mulch, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
  • Remove leaves, branches, and debris from grounds and walkways.
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and all hand tools.
  • Report irrigation issues, plant health concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Assist with janitorial and interior/exterior cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Perform snow and ice removal (mandatory for all employees) during winter weather events, including shoveling, plowing support, and application of ice-melt products.
  • Assist with litter and debris pickup across assigned properties, roadways, parking lots, and common areas.
  • Support Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and flagging operations as needed.
  • Perform other services as needed based on client and business demands.
