About The Position

The Landscaping Ground Person plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces to ensure they are aesthetically pleasing, safe, and functional. This position involves performing a variety of physical tasks such as planting, mulching, trimming, and general grounds maintenance to support the overall landscaping design and upkeep. The role requires collaboration with landscaping teams to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety standards and environmental guidelines. The Landscaping Ground Person contributes to the long-term health and appearance of landscapes by applying knowledge of plant care and soil management. Ultimately, this position ensures that residential, commercial, or public outdoor environments remain attractive and well-maintained throughout the year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment operation.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites within the United States.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field.
• Familiarity with plant species, soil types, and pest management.
• Certification in landscaping or horticulture.
• Experience operating heavy machinery such as skid steers or mini-excavators.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants according to landscaping plans.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks including weeding, mulching, leaf removal, and debris cleanup to keep areas tidy.
• Support the installation of hardscape elements like walkways, edging, and irrigation systems under supervision.
• Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment and sustainable landscaping practices.
