About The Position

Stew Leonard’s is hiring a part-time Landscape Maintenance Team Member in Yonkers, New York. This hands-on outdoor role maintains the landscaping and overall appearance of the store grounds, keeping outdoor areas clean, safe, welcoming, and well cared for throughout the season. The position pays $17.25–$17.50 per hour, based on seniority and experience, with weekly pay. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and applicants must be at least 18 years old.

The role works primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and light rain. It involves frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical activity throughout the shift. Team Members must be able to safely lift or move up to 70 pounds and perform physical work for extended periods.

Requirements

• Previous landscaping, lawn care, or grounds maintenance experience is required.
• Knowledge of basic lawn and plant care, including appropriate plant types, mulching, planting, and general landscape maintenance.
• Comfort safely operating lawn and landscaping equipment.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Dependable, honest, and flexible.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and work well as part of a team.
• Friendly and courteous when interacting with customers and fellow Team Members.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Available to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to safely lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• Comfortable performing physical work for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaped areas across the property, including lawns, plants, shrubs, flower beds, and mulched areas.
• Perform lawn and landscape care, including trimming, weeding, mulching, planting, watering, and seasonal cleanup.
• Safely operate landscaping equipment, including gas-powered weed trimmers, leaf blowers, and other lawn-care equipment.
• Pick up trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep exterior areas clean and inviting.
• Maintain the overall appearance of the property so the grounds are ready to welcome customers each day.
• Identify areas needing additional maintenance or attention and communicate concerns to management.
• Follow proper safety procedures when using equipment and completing outdoor work.
• Assist with other grounds and property-maintenance needs as assigned.
