About The Position

Perform skilled grounds maintenance and landscaping work to maintain grounds and use power equipment; mower, aerator, blower, string trimmer, power trimmer, etc. Mow and edge lawns, sweep walkways as needed. Participate in the planting of flowers and shrubs and flower bed maintenance as needed. Maintain lawn and bed sprinkler systems and equipment as necessary. Trim, prune and shape various trees, bushes, shrubs, and plants as directed. Assure that walkways are clean and clear of all hazards. Irrigate, apply herbicides, and fertilize lawn and shrub beds as needed. Rake/blow and dispose of leaves. Apply and spread bark dust to areas as needed or directed. Responsible for helping with snow and ice removal efforts during the winter months. Dispose of yard and pruning debris as required. Perform operational maintenance on grounds equipment and keep in good working order. Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned or available. Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Driver License (will drive company vehicles).
  • Pass comprehensive background check.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write effectively in English.
  • Work is primarily outdoors.
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Exposure to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stoop, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Expected exposure to chemicals related to maintenance of lawns and shrubs.
  • Must be able to set up and climb ladders safely.
  • Must be able to handle tools and equipment necessary for assigned work.

  • Experience in general landscape and ground maintenance preferred.
