About The Position
Offers technical and administrative assistance to campus Landscape Tech Supervisor or Horticulturist.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class C driver’s license (or equivalent) with fewer than 6 points.
- Must be licensed by the State of Maryland as a Certified Pesticide Applicator, Categories 3A (Ornamental Plants and Shade Trees-Exterior), 3C (Turf and Lawn Pest Control) and 6 (Right of Way and Weed). If hired without the certification, must be able to sit for the exam and obtain certification within 6 months of employment, and remain medically certified to apply pesticides. This is a condition of employment.
- Must be a Maryland Certified Professional Fertilizer Applicator. If hired without the certification, must be able to sit for the exam and obtain certification within 6 months of employment. This is a condition of employment.
- Bachelors degree in horticulture, agronomy or related field AND Two years in landscape construction, agronomy, or landscape maintenance work.
- Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Certified Pesticide Applicator.
- Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
