About The Position

The Landscape Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing the overall landscape maintenance plan for The Homesteads, LOV, and LCA properties. This role involves overseeing landscape maintenance contractors, managing personnel, and ensuring the quality and timely completion of various landscaping and maintenance projects. The manager will also be involved in budgeting, personnel management, and addressing property owner concerns.

Requirements

  • BS degree in horticulture or equivalent experience
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to train and motivate at the line level
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills including budgeting capability
  • Positive people skills with ability to work with others and/or independently
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • The ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions
  • The ability to stand, bend, stretch and lift 50 lbs.
  • The ability to walk on uneven surfaces and lengthy distances.

Responsibilities

  • Defines overall landscape maintenance plan for The Homesteads, LOV, and LCA properties.
  • Oversees all landscape maintenance contractors for ROA and public areas (excluding golf courses).
  • Works with the Director of the ROA/Property Manager to establish budgets for all relevant areas.
  • Instructs and supervises landscape maintenance and ROA maintenance personnel.
  • Ensures scheduled staff is present, knowledgeable, and performing duties to established standards.
  • Responsible for timely completion of employee evaluations and related personnel paperwork.
  • Supervises contractors installing landscaping, irrigation, and other related services.
  • Develops and maintains a master program for all irrigation systems for The Homesteads, LOV, and LCA properties.
  • Authorizes payment for services and goods provided within budget guidelines.
  • Provides a list of all areas requiring annual, semi-annual, and/or periodic color.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of LCA ponds.
  • Repairs road right of ways after utility work and other damage.
  • Identifies and implements improved controls over erosion and landscape drainage.
  • Works closely with other departments on additional landscaping needs, providing plans and installation when needed.
  • Investigates property owner concerns as requested and implements solutions when possible.
  • Oversees Wildlife Management projects across all companies.
