About The Position

Our Landscape Maintenance 10-12-week paid internship program offers a hands-on, well-rounded experience that provides insight into every aspect of branch operations. We’re looking for motivated, driven individuals who are eager to learn, take initiative, and make a meaningful impact as part of a collaborative team. If you’re passionate about the commercial landscape industry, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are looking for an opportunity to gain real-world experience, this internship is a great place to start. You’ll build practical skills, expand your industry knowledge, and gain exposure to day-to-day operations through meaningful projects—providing a strong foundation as you explore career paths and prepare for your future after graduation. This is a field-focused program that builds your knowledge of field operations to prepare for a successful career in the commercial landscape industry. Your schedule will be customized based on various roles and specific projects, with a significant portion of the program spent outside.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
  • Interest in working in a team-oriented, customer-focused industry with a willingness to support a variety of operational needs
  • Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties
  • Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of field operations, working alongside crews and developing a comprehensive understanding of landscape production and branch operations.
  • Gain exposure to key areas of the business by observing and engaging with teams involved in Field Operations, Irrigation, Enhancements, Sales, and Branch Leadership.
  • Work alongside an experienced mentor who will guide your progress, offer regular feedback, and support your professional development throughout the internship.
  • Gain exposure to team building, professional etiquette, communication, leadership, and management best practices to help prepare you for future roles.
  • Contribute to meaningful projects while working alongside skilled professionals and fellow interns, fostering teamwork and shared learning.
  • Build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders within the organization, expanding your professional network and industry connections.
  • Gain further training in the department of their choice at the end of the program as they wrap up their internship.
  • Present their internship experience, highlighting key field experiences, projects, lessons learned, skills developed, and how they experienced and contributed to Ruppert’s culture and values.
