Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping, construction, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or crew supervisory role
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting landscape designs, site plans, and construction drawings
  • Experience with installation of hardscapes (pavers, retaining walls, etc.) and softscapes (plants, trees, mulch, etc.)
  • Familiarity with safe operation of landscaping tools and small equipment (e.g., skid steer, saws, compactors)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew in the execution of hardscape and softscape landscape projects
  • Interpret and execute landscape construction plans and design drawings
  • Ensure proper layout, grading, and installation of patios, retaining walls, edging, and plant materials
  • Maintain project timelines and report progress to the Landscape Manager
  • Operate and oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and light machinery safely and effectively
  • Manage and maintain the assigned crew truck, trailers, and equipment used for daily landscape operations
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
  • Communicate clearly with crew members to assign tasks and maintain team productivity
  • Train and mentor crew members in proper installation techniques and safety procedures
  • Monitor the health and well-being of crew members; escalate concerns to management when needed
  • Maintain crew morale and productivity by leading through example and encouraging a safe, respectful work environment
  • Operate a loader and apply salt in commercial parking lots during winter months
