Landscape Designer
About The Position
Garden View Landscape, Nursery & Pools is seeking a creative, driven, and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our award-winning Design/Build team. For more than four decades, Garden View has been creating exceptional outdoor environments throughout Southern California. Our projects include high-end residential landscapes, custom hardscapes, swimming pools, outdoor living spaces, and complete backyard environments. You will work closely with clients, estimators, project managers, and field teams, taking projects from initial site analysis and conceptual design through construction documentation. Success in this role requires strong communication, organization, creativity, technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of detail and quality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional AutoCAD experience.
- 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
- Professional 3D modeling experience.
- Strong digital and hand graphic skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical abilities.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Experience designing high-end residential landscapes.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of the Southern California plant palette.
- Experience with landscape projects through multiple phases, including conceptual design, construction documentation, and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their vision, needs, lifestyle, and project goals.
- Conduct initial site analysis and document existing conditions.
- Complete field measurements and elevations and develop accurate base plans.
- Develop conceptual landscape designs and 3D models.
- Present design concepts to clients and incorporate feedback into final designs.
- Prepare detailed construction documents and plans using AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with estimators, project managers, and field personnel.
- Provide design guidance and support to field teams throughout installation.
- Participate in weekly design meetings, project reviews, and design critiques.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Support projects through various phases, including conceptual design, construction documentation, and contract administration.
