About The Position

The Landscape Designer advises and assists customers with selecting and maintaining plants, develops landscape designs to customer specifications, and provides design plans, materials lists, and cost estimates. The role meets with potential customers at the store or their sites to gather information about landscaping needs. It also processes sales orders, coordinates material delivery or pickup, and follows up to ensure customer satisfaction. The employee may assist with merchandising and perform other tasks needed for the smooth operation of the division. This is a full-time position at the Mechanicsburg Home & Garden Store, with Monday through Friday availability required from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The listed wage is $19.50 per hour. Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Regularly work outdoors and be exposed to outside weather conditions.
Be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Nice To Haves

CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with merchandising products or services to develop new markets, increase market share, and obtain a competitive position in the industry.
Meet with potential customers at the store or client sites, gather information about their landscaping needs, and produce designs to customer specifications.
Process sales orders, coordinate delivery or pickup of materials, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide customers with a design, materials list, and cost estimate in a timely manner.
Perform tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the division.
