About The Position

As a Landscape Designer at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for supporting project teams in developing creative and technical landscape design solutions while building your skills through hands-on project experience. Working closely with project and task leaders, you will contribute to research, preliminary design, site observations, and the preparation of plans, exhibits, and drawing revisions while gaining exposure to industry standards and real-world projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge and efficient use of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to conduct research and apply information to assigned design and project tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to take directions, ask questions when clarification is needed, and apply feedback to future assignments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and develop knowledge of client, government, and regulatory standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, studio, or academic project experience related to landscape architecture, land development, or a related design field.
  • Hand-drawing, sketching, or other graphic communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with preparing plans, exhibits, and design presentations.
  • A portfolio showcasing relevant academic, internship, or personal design work.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting project and task leaders with landscape architecture and design assignments.
  • Conducting research, preliminary analyses, design calculations, and site observations to support project development.
  • Preparing base plans, exhibits, drawings, and revisions under the direction of senior team members.
  • Collaborating with team members and participating in peer reviews to ensure accurate, high-quality work.
  • Researching and applying client, government, and regulatory standards to project assignments.
  • Building proficiency with design tools and applying feedback to strengthen your technical skills and professional judgment.
