About The Position

Smith Lawnscapes LLC, a family-oriented landscape construction and maintenance company, is seeking a dependable Landscape Crew Member to join our dedicated team. This role involves assisting with landscape installations, operating various tools and equipment, performing maintenance, planting, and ensuring job sites are clean and professional. The company emphasizes in-house craftsmanship, a family-style culture, and growth opportunities, serving the Dewitt, East Lansing, Haslett, Okemos, Grand Ledge & the Greater Lansing area.

Requirements

1+ year of landscaping or general labor experience preferred
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Capable of operating the required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
Able to work independently and as part of a crew
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., bend, kneel, and perform physical labor
Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

Assist Crew Leaders with landscape installations
Operate various hand tools and equipment, power tools, and equipment
Perform daily inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance of equipment
Plant and maintain lawns, landscape beds, trees, and plants
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
Follow company quality standards and all safety procedures
Help keep jobsites clean, organized, and professional
