About The Position

Horizon West Landscape is seeking a Project Manager to lead their Central Florida construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple jobs simultaneously from contract award to closeout, overseeing each job's budget and schedule, and serving as the primary point of contact for general contractor partners. This role reports to the Director of Construction Operations and involves leading superintendents, foremen, and field crews assigned to the projects.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years managing commercial landscape, irrigation, or site work projects.
  • Ability to read landscape, irrigation, and civil plans and specifications, including takeoffs and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of job cost, scheduling, and change order management.
  • Strong communication with general contractors, owners, and field crews.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in construction management, landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field.
  • OSHA 30.
  • Experience with Aspire or similar project management software.
  • Knowledge of Central Florida nurseries, suppliers, and general contractors.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Take over new jobs from the sales team and build the budget and schedule for each one.
  • Manage multiple active projects at once and set priorities for crews and equipment.
  • Coordinate start dates, sequencing, and site readiness with general contractors.
  • Direct superintendents and foremen on crew planning, quality, and safety, and step into the superintendent role on jobs without one.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and material orders with project administration and purchasing teams.
  • Price, submit, and track change orders.
  • Review job cost weekly and report cost to complete monthly.
  • Approve monthly progress for billing and manage punch lists and closeout.
  • Proactively recruit and hire foremen and crews in their geographic area, or use industry contacts to recommend foremen and crews outside of their geographic region.
