Landscape Architecture Intern
About The Position
Kimley-Horn is seeking Landscape Architecture students to join their Escondido, California (CA) office in 2027. This is an on-site position where interns will utilize technical software programs for analysis, production, and quality control of client deliverables. Responsibilities include contributing to site planning, urban and landscape design, and graphic/technical production for a variety of projects such as land planning, urban design, mixed-use developments, streetscapes, design guidelines, public infrastructure, parks, and community facilities. Interns will solve complex problems, support project managers, and collaborate across disciplines. They will also develop familiarity with relevant regulations and company standards. Analysts will learn software including Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, Illustrator, GIS/Arcview, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Excel.
Requirements
- In the process of receiving a Landscape Architecture Degree (Bachelors or Masters)
Nice To Haves
- Analysts will learn one or more software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, Illustrator, GIS/Arcview, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Excel.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
- Contribute to the site planning, urban and landscape design, and graphic and technical production.
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
