About The Position

This role involves understanding and executing all aspects of the design process to contribute to the team's success while adhering to firm and project goals. The Landscape Architect will develop and implement creative design ideas, stay updated on landscape technology and site engineering, and respond to technical implications. Responsibilities include reviewing and executing drawings for various design phases, managing projects within scope, schedule, and budget, and contributing to marketing pursuits. The role also involves administering agency reviews, ensuring document compliance, and collaborating in design reviews. Effective communication, team inspiration, mentoring staff, and coordinating with consultants are key aspects of this position.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay
  • Experience with physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting
  • Experience with presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience with Environmental Analysis software such Ladybug and Climate Studio
  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape, architecture or related field required
  • Professional landscape licensure or 25 years of experience in the design profession.
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, ILFI Living Future Accreditation or RELi AP.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and consistently executes all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
  • Develops and implements creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team.
  • Maintains awareness of evolving landscape technology and site engineering systems.
  • Understands and responds to technical implications and design decisions.
  • Reviews and executes drawings for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Executes responsibilities on projects within the scope of schedule and budget.
  • Contributes to project marketing pursuits, proposal preparation, and interviews.
  • Administers applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).
  • Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Participates and collaborates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas.
  • Mentors staff.
  • Coordinates effectively with partners, colleagues, and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases.
