About The Position

Under the guidance of a senior landscape architect or project manager, you will provide professional landscape architecture services in support of the NCC’s Multi Year Capital Program and other approved programs. Working within multidisciplinary teams and established project management frameworks, you will contribute landscape architecture expertise throughout all phases of project delivery, including site analysis, planning, design development, contract documentation, coordination with internal and external parties and implementation support. You will be responsible for defined project components, exercising increasing autonomy, while continuing work under senior professional direction.

Requirements

  • A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in landscape architecture or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Three to eight years of experience providing professional services in landscape architecture.
  • Must be licensed/registered as a professional member in landscape architecture in Ontario or Quebec and with the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.
  • Knowledge of landscape architecture principles, methods and best practices in planning, design and construction.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, regulations and accessibility requirements applicable to landscape projects.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices for the development of functional, durable and environmentally responsible landscapes.
  • Knowledge of the heritage significance of cultural landscapes and the NCC's stewardship responsibilities.
  • Ability to review and evaluate landscape architecture designs, plans and technical deliverables for quality, compliance.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop practical, sustainable and innovative landscape design solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments and build collaborative relationships.

  • The person selected for the positions must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace.
