About The Position

The Thrasher Group, Inc. is a full-service architecture, engineering, and field services consulting firm serving clients across the Mid-Atlantic region. Since 1983, our mission has been to improve the communities where we live and work. Our in-house, multi-disciplinary team carries projects from concept to ribbon cutting, and our landscape architecture practice plays a key role in shaping parks, streetscapes, campuses, and public spaces throughout the region. Thrasher is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our growing planning and design team. This position will work closely with architects, civil engineers, and surveyors on a diverse range of projects, including parks and recreation facilities, trails, streetscapes, site development, master plans, and community revitalization efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and seeing projects through from early concepts to construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D required.
  • Strong graphic, design, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) preferred, or actively pursuing licensure.
  • 3–7 years of professional landscape architecture or site design experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates will be considered.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar visualization tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop site plans, landscape plans, planting designs, grading concepts, and hardscape details for public and private projects.
  • Prepare conceptual designs, renderings, and graphics for master plans, community engagement, and funding applications.
  • Produce construction documents, details, and specifications in coordination with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and community input sessions.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Support project pursuits and proposals with design concepts and graphic content.
