About The Position

As a Landfill Attendant, you are responsible to ensure that the landfill site is operating in a neat, tidy and cost-effective manner. This position is a seasonal position until October from Tuesday to Sunday.

Requirements

• Landfill experience is an asset.
• Class 5 Drivers License.
• Experience with or knowledge of the handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous Substance and Dangerous Waste.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift at least 30lbs.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
• Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

• Direct all users to proper dumping areas and record what items are being disposed.
• Keep all areas of the landfill site clean and well maintained.
• Keep all buildings clean and well maintained.
• Assist in transferring or disposing of waste as required.
• Sort recyclables as required.
• Assisting customers with their questions about their waste/recycling.
• Directing customers with the disposal of their waste/recycling.
• Assisting with cash transactions as required.
