About The Position

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Landfill Operator to support their facilities maintenance and Environmental Department at the Dierks, Arkansas Lumber Facility. This is an hourly production role that will report to the site’s Filing and Facilities Supervisor. The role involves operating a box truck to transport residuals to the landfill, maintaining site grounds with heavy equipment, and ensuring compliance with Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) standards. The successful candidate will also be required to obtain EPA Method 9 certification.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 or more years of manufacturing experience.
  • Willingness to work the specified schedule with modifications when required.
  • Safe operation of heavy equipment or vehicles.
  • Ability to promote and ensure compliance with safety initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all associates.
  • Excellent work ethic with initiative to get things done.
  • Willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, including working any shift, weekends, and holidays as conditions require.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Resume detailing education and work history.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and other windows-based programs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain landfill, including tracking waste, waste screening, performing inspections, and maintaining the Master certification of Solid Waste Licensing issued by ADEQ to ensure compliance with all regulations and permit conditions.
  • Operate the Dozer to spread out loads at the landfill.
  • Operate the Box Truck to dump boxes in designated areas, keep records of everything dumped, and perform waste screening on every load.
  • Operate the Farm Tractor to mow/bush hog areas needed, mainly at the landfill and old site near outfalls.
  • Operate the Front-End Loader as needed for tasks such as moving material and cleaning out bark separators.
  • Operate lawn equipment as needed.
  • Be DOT trained and stay up to date on DOT training to assist with fuel deliveries.
  • Become certified in EPA Method 9 for reading opacity as required by the air permit.
  • Assist the Environmental Manager with tasks such as water sampling and inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
