About The Position

Select, supervise and train employees in their respective positions. Safely plan, organize, control and direct the activities of the landfill operations to accomplish the desired objectives. Provide leadership, which results in positive employee/employer relations. Project a professional corporate image, effective resource management, a sound risk management program and high production standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two (2) years diesel mechanic experience (or related mechanical, electrical or industrial field) is required
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge, experience and ability to repair and maintain tools, equipment and machinery required
  • Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English
  • Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
  • Possess physical ability to perform all aspects of job.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate/Coordinate with management, engineers and vendors to identify and resolve plant operational issues.
  • Diagnose operational difficulties with the Gas Collection System and Gas Treatment Equipment and notify plant equipment repair vendor immediately.
  • Serve as principal liaison with plant equipment repair vendor to facilitate speedy repair to any needed equipment.
  • Monitor the collection field for proper concentration levels.
  • Complete necessary repairs to the collection system.
  • PM and repair gas conditioning equipment.
  • Assist vendors with trouble shooting and operation of the Power Generation Equipment.
  • Operational knowledge of Generator Switchgear.
  • Assist in Generator repairs as needed.
  • Complete reports, environmental agency records, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required.
  • Gas collection field data.
  • Start-up, Shut down & Maintenance logs.
  • Daily Plant Operational condition logs.
  • Calibrate and log monitoring equipment.
  • Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedule.
  • Interview, hire, train, develop and evaluate gas plant personnel as required to meet service commitments.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ensure fair treatment and practice progressive discipline with all employee performance issues.
  • Must be available for On-Call response to system emergencies.
  • Conform in all respects with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and keep up with the latest technology through the use of technical manuals and the attendance of technical training seminars and testing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
