About The Position

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Landfill Liquid & Gas Technician to join the team in Castaic, CA! The schedule will be Monday-Friday + most Saturdays. Weekend work and overtime is often required. Shift is 7am-4:30 or 5pm. The pay range for this position is $32-34/hour, depending on experience. Requirements

Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Equipment operating experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables
Assembling new parts on existing pumps
Checking, monitoring and cleaning gas wells
Reading and keeping track of gas well data
Operating small pieces of equipment such as backhoe
Working with team and contract employees
Working outside in all weather conditions.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
