About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience General Laborer to join our GROWING team at Anson Landfill in Polkton, NC. Requirements

One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to meet the following physical requirements: stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, gramps, kneel, lift up to 50lbs, stamina for repetitive tasks and prolonged physical activity

Responsibilities

Checking trucks in and out of the landfill and directing traffic at site as necessary.
Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.
Perform yard work including cutting weeds.
Install temporary wind fences as required.
Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues.
Assist Site Manager with all other duties as assigned.
