About The Position

Safely operate, monitor, and perform maintenance on Landfill Gas Collection and Gas Treatment equipment to ensure its ability to operate safely & efficiently. This role involves diagnosing operational difficulties, performing repairs on the Gas Collection System and Gas Treatment Equipment, and assisting with the operation of Power Generation Equipment. The technician will also be responsible for completing reports, environmental agency records, ordering parts, and maintaining safe working conditions. The position requires on-call availability for system emergencies and adherence to all applicable laws and company policies. Additionally, the role includes assisting in training new employees and staying current with technology through technical manuals and training seminars.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Knowledge, experience and ability to repair and maintain tools, equipment and machinery required
  • Previous experience in related mechanical, electrical or industrial field strongly desired
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.
  • Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

  • Operational knowledge of Generator Switchgear
  • Calibrate and log monitoring equipment (if needed)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, monitor, and perform maintenance on Landfill Gas Collection and Gas Treatment equipment.
  • Diagnose operational difficulties and notify Gas Plant Supervisor and/or vendor.
  • Make repairs to the Gas Collection System and Gas Treatment Equipment.
  • Monitor the collection field for proper concentration levels.
  • Complete necessary repairs to the collection system.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair gas conditioning equipment.
  • Assist Gas Plant Supervisor and/or vendors with trouble shooting and operation of the Power Generation Equipment.
  • Complete reports, environmental agency records, order parts and perform other administrative duties.
  • Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedule.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Be available for On-Call response to system emergencies.
  • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and keep up with the latest technology through the use of technical manuals and the attendance of technical training seminars and testing.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
