About the Role If you have a solid background in labor, mechanical work, or industrial maintenance and prefer a reliable schedule where you can work with your hands, this is the right fit. As a Landfill Gas Technician at our Sampson County Landfill in Roseboro, NC, you will be responsible for keeping our Gas Collection and Treatment systems running safely and efficiently. This is a rugged, active outdoor and industrial role requiring strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and a solid work ethic.

Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial labor field is strongly desired.
• Strong ability to repair and maintain tools, machinery, and heavy equipment.
• Must be able to read and use mechanical/parts manuals.
• Ability to follow detailed technical directions and work productively without someone constantly watching over your shoulder.
• Must be willing to participate in a night and weekend on-call schedule for system emergencies.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds.
• Constant standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and bending in an active industrial environment.
• Regular exposure to hot and cold weather, loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
• Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, adjust, and repair the gas collection piping field to keep concentration levels right where they need to be.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and fixes on gas conditioning equipment and power generation systems (including generator switchgear).
• Diagnose mechanical or operational issues and team up with the Gas Plant Supervisor or vendors to get things running smoothly again.
• Keep simple, accurate daily logs of plant conditions, start-up/shut-down times, and equipment calibration.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and strictly follow all safety regulations to ensure you and your crew go home safe every day.
