The probationary period of approximately 90 days as a temp-to-hire employee allows you to show off your skills on the job. Requirements

Must be dependable.
Ability to catch on quickly to new skills.
Must be punctual.
Must have a dependable mode of transportation.
Must have a valid, active driver's license.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials up to 50 to 75 pounds.
Wear personal protective clothing and equipment.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a related field.
Experience operating a compactor is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect incoming loads for unauthorized waste in the absence of a spotter.
Complete load inspection reports.
Enforce safety procedures throughout the landfill.
Perform heavy manual labor as needed.
Report any safety or compliance incidents to the Landfill Crew Leader, Landfill Manager, and/or Engineering & Safety Coordinator.
Pick up litter and assist with the erection and relocation of litter fences.
Follow oral and written instructions and perform tasks independently.
Regularly operate heavy farm and landfill equipment such as fuel and water trucks, articulating dump trucks, bush hogs, tractors, and skid-steers.
Regularly operate heavy earth-moving equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and compactors.
Complete daily equipment sheets electronically after inspecting equipment for mechanical operation and safety.
Detect needed repairs and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Observe and make recommendations for possible improvements for more efficient operations.
