About The Position
The Equipment Operator position is responsible for transferring, spreading and loading MSW, Clean Wood, C and D waste, and Single Sort Recyclables to ensure materials are transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner.

Responsibilities
- Transfer, spread, cover, load and/or compact solid waste or soil while operating excavators, loaders, landfill compactors, backhoes, tractors and skid steers as well as off-road trucks
- Process materials for recycling while operating grinders and screeners
- Operate heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers and roll-offs
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment and vehicles
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Maintain various records and/or logs
- Wash, lubricate and fuel equipment and vehicles
- Pick materials from incoming loads
- Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control
- Perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
