Reviews and processes moderately complex plans and specifications for buildings and other structures for compliance with provisions of the building, housing and zoning codes and ordinances; and performs other related duties as required. This class differs from that of Land Use and Building Plans Examiner in that the Land Use and Building Plans Technician is responsible to review and process plans and specifications for moderately complex residential and commercial structures such as single-family dwellings and commercial buildings up to 3 stories and construction costs under $100,000 for compliance with provisions of the building, housing and zoning codes and ordinances; whereas the Land Use and Building Plans Examiner is responsible to review and process complex building plans which may involve commercial buildings more than 3 stories and construction costs of more than $100,000 for compliance with provisions of the building, housing and zoning codes and ordinances.
