As a Land Technician I you will provide administrative support to Land department staff securing leases, options, and special agreements covering land and mineral rights for drilling wells and producing gas and oil. Sets up and maintains printed and electronic files relating to Land department functions. Composes, types, and tracks correspondence, contracts and reports. Assists Land staff in compiling data, assembling documents and reviewing invoices.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum two years administrative/clerical work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multi task and adapt to shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Enertia, OpenInvoice, ExpensePoint a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and maintains printed and electronic files relating to Land department functions. Classifies and files correspondence, lease records, contracts, invoices and other documents according to predetermined indexing scheme. Retrieves documents as needed for reference or reporting purposes. Disposes of obsolete files in accordance with records retention schedule or legal requirements. May scan or photocopy documents for inclusion in files or transmittal via physical or electronic mail. Organize and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
  • Composes, types and revises correspondence, contracts and reports using word processing software and templates, instructions, notes or data provided by or retrieved at direction of Land department staff. Distributes and tracks printed or electronic documents for review and approval. Incorporates in revisions comments and markups provided by others. Reviews final documents for accuracy and signatures. Reads, logs and routes incoming mail. Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including email and faxes.
  • Assists Land department staff in compiling data and assembling documents to support purchase, sale and acquisition of land leases, mineral and royalty rights, including prepared agreements, assignments and due diligence research.
  • Responsible for maintaining all reporting functions to our non-operated partners. Drafting, sending and tracking all partner elections.
  • Maintains department invoices and/or expense reports by reviewing and coding vendor invoices for payment and preparing expense reimbursements for submission.
