Our dynamic and successful Survey group is seeking motivated individuals to assist our field crews with survey staking and road construction inspection work and topographic survey. You will spend most of your time on a field assignment. This job may include 10-11 hour days and some weekend work. Seeking candidates who can work during the summer or through the whole construction season (into November). Looking towards the future? This position has the potential for full-time employment upon graduation from the respective accredited Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology program. This position will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN corporate office.

Requirements

  • Progressing toward a two-year or four-year civil engineering technician, land surveying, or related degree.
  • Demonstrates cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team and as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand / walk for long periods of time, and to work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid MN Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for new employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to read and understand civil plan sets at various levels of project design.
  • Learn what goes into generating topographic and construction surveys.
  • Learn how to use GPS and conventional survey technical equipment and techniques.
  • Assist the SRF survey team by getting into the field on a project.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
