About The Position

EN Engineering is seeking a Land Rights Technician to support survey and land rights efforts across Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in title research, easements, right-of-way documentation, and land records who enjoys working on utility and infrastructure projects that directly impact local communities. As a Land Rights Technician, you'll work under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor, performing detailed title research, analyzing property rights, reviewing deeds and easements, and preparing land rights documentation. You'll collaborate closely with surveyors, engineers, utility clients, and public agencies to ensure accurate and complete property records for project development and execution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a title abstractor, paralegal, or related land records professional
  • Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial Driver's License (or equivalent out-of-state license)
  • Experience researching property ownership, easements, rights-of-way, deeds, plats, and land records
  • Ability to review and interpret deeds, surveys, plats, easement agreements, and legal descriptions

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of land rights, right-of-way acquisition, real property law, deeds, and easements, particularly in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware
  • Experience working with utility, infrastructure, or surveying projects
  • Familiarity with GIS systems, courthouse archives, and land records databases
  • Proficiency with CAD and preparing survey drawings, easement exhibits, plats, land descriptions, and property mosaics
  • Knowledge of ALTA/NSPS survey requirements, title review processes, and FEMA Elevation Certifications
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to train and mentor other survey technicians
