Land Financial Analyst

About The Position

This position requires onsite attendance 5 days per week at our Division Office in Fairfax, Virginia in addition to assigned communities in the Fairfax surrounding areas. The Land Financial Analyst will assist Land and Finance teams to ensure appropriate documentation of all land entitlement and development expenditures and budgets. They will also assist in the feasibility process by preparing models to support the Land and Finance teams, lead monthly reviews with Land and Finance teams to reconcile all land balances and development budgets, and ensure all lot cost assumptions are appropriate and documented. This role prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports for submission to Home Office, analyzes soft cost budgets (property taxes, HOA funding, and land overhead absorption), and calculates lot costs. Additionally, the analyst will assist in forecasting cash flows relative to land purchase and development expenditures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reports
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2-4 years of prior relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accounting license (active or inactive) preferred
