Land Agent

Fractal PowerNew York, NY

About The Position

Fractal Power is a vertically integrated power company built for the modern grid. We own and operate across the entire stack, combining utility-scale energy storage infrastructure with algorithmic trading and dispatch to deliver power precisely where and when it’s needed most. We are backed by the world’s leading infrastructure and deeptech investors, including Riot, Definition, and Worldbuild. The demand for power is growing at the fastest rate since WWII yet supply is stranded behind worsening transmission and interconnection bottlenecks. The new economy requires a new model of power delivery, one that’s vertically integrated, algorithmically operated, and co-located with demand. We solve the last-mile infrastructure problem by vertically integrating across the entire value chain of American power - from greenfield development, to algorithmic optimization, dispatch, and power trading across a fleet of distributed resources - allowing us to deliver power where and when it's needed most on the grid. We have the ambition, the team, and the zeal to create the next great power company and we are looking for fanatical people to join us. You will be the primary face of the company to landowners, responsible for securing long-term lease and purchase agreements for our Distributed Generation (DG) Battery Energy Storage (BESS) portfolio. This is a Texas-based high-autonomy role that requires a "closer" mentality and a deep understanding of Texas land rights.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in Land Acquisition preferred within Renewable Energy (Texas Oil & Gas also accepted)
  • Proven track record of managing the complete land acquisition lifecycle for energy projects in Texas, from strategic initial outreach to the successful execution of definitive agreements.
  • Proficiency in courthouse record research, title curative work, and GIS mobile tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Texas Real Estate License or AAPL certification (CPL or RPL) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Launch and manage multi-channel outreach campaigns (mail, phone, and direct "door-knocking") to convert cold leads into project partners.
  • Must be willing to travel across ERCOT territories. You are expected to be comfortable knocking on doors, meeting landowners at their kitchen tables, and representing the company with stakeholders.
  • Support end-to-end negotiation of Lease Options, Lease Agreements, and Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSA).
  • Provide real-time, high-fidelity feedback to the development team on "ground truth" issues that GIS tools can't see (e.g., local opposition, hidden easements, or competing developers).

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible PTO policy
