About The Position

The Land Acquisition Analyst supports the Land Acquisition team with all aspects of land acquisition, from identifying potential land prospects to closing land transactions. This role involves preparing financial analyses, researching land targets, monitoring market activity, and assisting with strategic planning.

Requirements

Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize workload.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to multi-task.
Strong desire to work in land acquisition.
Ability to analyze, interpret, summarize, and report data.
Dependable, self-motivated, and proactive.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to GIS, Metrostudy, Acres, and Zonda is helpful.
A background in real estate or market research is desirable.
Professional knowledge of the home-building and land brokerage industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare financial proformas and competitive market analyses to determine the viability of proposed land acquisitions.
Work with entitlement and development teams and consultants to determine budgets and schedules for proformas.
Coordinate with multiple departments to understand home construction costs and buyer preferences for proformas.
Review and analyze due diligence information for potential land investments.
Extract and analyze data from various sources, including MLS, company databases, Metrostudy, Acres, Zonda, and other external websites.
Prepare pre-acquisition investment summaries and related support material.
Maintain financial proformas and competition analyses post-acquisition to assess ways to enhance existing communities' performance and report actual performance.
Prepare detailed proformas and land packages with relevant support data for submittal to the Corporate Land Committee to seek approval of new land acquisition transactions.
Prepare follow-up analysis and forms necessary to transact said acquisitions.
Actively research, analyze, and identify potential land acquisition targets by extensively utilizing mapping and market data software.
Maintain a database and prepare reports that identify each acquisition target and track the status of each.
Perform preliminary feasibility/financial analysis on identified acquisition targets and present weekly updates and recommendations to Land Acquisition leadership.
Monitor land transactions and entitlement activity in the Division's core markets, including weekly summaries and updates of notable residential land transactions and entitlement activities.
Assist Land Acquisition leadership with ad hoc projects as needed.
Assist the Land Acquisition team in preparing the Land Acquisition Strategy annually.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
