About The Position

The Courtesy Shuttle Driver safely transports guests between the Daniel K Inouye International Airport and the Lāna‘i Air private hangar, providing a seamless high-quality transfer, and excellent customer service. Vehicles may vary in size up to 13 passenger seat Sprinters. The Courtesy Shuttle Driver communicates with the System Operation and Reservation Coordinator team to ensure a smooth pickup of the guest at the designated pick up/drop off locations, and is required to provide guests with authentic Hawaiian hospitality experience during their travel on Lāna‘i Air. Compensation: $23.45/hour (non-exempt) Reporting Relationship: Reports to: Ramp Operations Manager Coordinates with: Lāna‘i Air Team – System Operation & Reservation Coordinators and Honolulu Guest Service Screening Agents Quality Standards: Conduct individual and business affairs in highest ethical and legal fashion. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in the Hospitality industry
  • Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Requires the highest level of professionalism
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to established procedures and maintain reliable work attendance.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Requires good judgement and a commonsense approach to the work.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under conditions that are changing on a moment’s notice.
  • Must be able to foster teamwork within the department and with other business entities.
  • Requires an ability to take responsibility and be accountable.
  • The workload is constant and must be handled in a timely manner.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities as flight arrival and departure times change
  • Must be able to problem solve and identify resources to use when faced with irregular operations.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract.
  • Must pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
  • Must be able to obtain an AOA badge and ramp license from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous luxury chauffeur experience is highly desireable
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet , SMS and other applicable software a plus.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely o perates vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and regulations
  • Assist passengers into and out of the vehicle by opening and closing doors for guests.
  • Loads and unloads luggage (may include fragile or delicate items).
  • Regulate s air conditioning, lights and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Report delays, accidents or incidents by mobile phone to the Operations Team.
  • Inspect vehicles daily, pre-trip and post-trip for safety and cleanliness
  • Performs pre-shift check list including checking vehicle brakes, t ires , windshields wipers, lights, oil, fuel and water supply.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the vehicles as needed to maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness for the guest is a key responsibility of this position.
  • Smoking is not allowed in or around the vehicles.
  • Advises the Operation team of mechanical problems by completing the appropriate report to ensure proper vehicle maintenance.
  • Records reading and information as required by Policy.
  • Must be able to fill out accident reports when necessary.
  • Communicates effectively and proactively with Operations in Honolulu to ensure accurate communication of details for the guest arrival, departure and transfer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
