About The Position

The Laminator performs a variety of techniques to laminate composite components according to drawings and Standard Work Instruction (SWI). This is an entry/junior level individual contributor, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles. Requires little or no prior experience and no more than a few months of training that is often received while on the job. Has little or no autonomy and works under close supervision. Achieves competency with skills assigned to this level over time.

  • Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and follow demonstrated steps.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent hand eye coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of process specifications.
  • Basic math skills.
  • One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in composite manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Lay-up composite materials on mandrels according to the manufacturing plan and SWI instructions; wrap mold with composite materials, in preparation for curing process, to form composite parts.
  • Check for accuracy in all prior documentation of manufacturing planning; reporting all discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor.
  • Verify materials being used are according to manufacturing plan.
  • Verify part ID tag and sign off on work performed.
  • Adhere to schedules and time allowances, takt time, for production requirements.
