About The Position

This role is for a Laminator Assistant Floater on the 2nd shift. The position requires the ability to perform quality checks, operate and troubleshoot machinery, and assist the Laminator Operator. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all safety and company policies. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to work on an elevated surface, frequently climbing up and down stairs.
  • Ability to stand constantly, bend, and reach with arms frequently.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds (if machine is not equipped with a pallet inserter).
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to communicate using a 2-way (noise filtering) radio headset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in a press/laminating department.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain a forklift license.
  • Perform quality checks and report sheet quality issues to the Single Face Operator and Laminator Operator.
  • Set up and operate the down stacker section of the machine, troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed.
  • Lay mylar over labels to determine die-cut lead edge and print registration tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the crew to maximize machine efficiency by communicating quality problems (e.g., order line-up, loose liner, warp, size, print, flute).
  • Communicate mechanical problems to the supervisor and other crew members.
  • Train with and assist the Laminator Operator with job duties.
  • Perform Operator duties during breaks, including setting up the feeder.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Perform housekeeping duties.
  • Adhere to all safety and work rules, company policies, and procedures.
