This role involves stacking and aligning rotor and stator laminations for the assembly of cores. The position requires measuring stacks using a ruler and adjusting the number of laminations to meet specified sizes. The job also includes GMAW tack welding, which must meet certification requirements, and performing daily/weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency. The Lamination Stacker uses various hand and power tools and requires spot welding. This is a position under general supervision, with instruction provided on new work and variations. It requires approximately six thousand (6,000) hours to become familiar with the work, materials, equipment, work methods, procedures, and to attain proficiency requirements regarding welding quality and quantity of work. The employee will also perform other duties as designated by the supervisor within the same salary grade or below.
