About The Position

Composite Technicians will be producing parts and assemblies for the aerospace, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and other product line industries that are developed at our facility.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in composite fabrication techniques using prepreg epoxy resins with carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, and quartz fiber materials
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, job travelers, planning documents, and technical specifications
  • Ability to work effectively under standard supervision, following established procedures while contributing to collaborative problem-solving within management-defined priorities
  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have experience working with laminating advance composite materials.
  • Knowledge of releases, prepreg, resins, composite bagging, adhesives, and curing presses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-management, and vendors.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP/accounting software experience required.
  • Fabricate composite molds and parts to meet customer specifications.
  • Take personal responsibility for workmanship and productivity.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Laminate composite materials into aluminum molds in accordance with engineering specifications and layup schedules
  • Operate industrial ovens and hydraulic heated presses in accordance with cure cycle specifications and equipment operating procedures
  • Demold cured composite parts and thoroughly clean, inspect, and prepare molds between layup cycles to ensure consistent part quality and mold longevity
  • Manually cut and trim composite materials using patterns and templates, and assist in developing new patterns to optimize material usage and layup efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop, document, and continuously improve lamination processes and layup procedures
  • Accurately measure, mix, and apply resins and adhesives by weight or volume per material specifications and process documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-compliant work environment at all times, adhering to company policy and tool control standards
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, lamination schedules, and engineering documentation relevant to assigned tasks
  • Adhere to all company procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards, and proactively communicate any process deviations or nonconformances
