About The Position

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator for the Byron Center, MI plant. This role involves operating manufacturing equipment, ensuring product quality and specifications are met, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The operator will also be responsible for monitoring equipment, troubleshooting minor issues, and training new employees.

Requirements

Must be able to use simple math.
Must be able to use basic hand-held measuring tools.
Must be trained and familiar with general safety.
Must be trained and familiar with Quality System Awareness.
Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken, preferred.

Responsibilities

General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
Operate equipment such as the Pre-Expander, Mold, Lamination Line, Block – Auto Line, etc.
Verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, operates and shuts down manufacturing equipment.
Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements while meeting productivity standards.
Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor; assist with routine cleaning.
Troubleshoot and make adjustments to equipment settings.
Responsible for training new employees.
Maintain proper work logs and complete required reports as necessary.
Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble and/or label materials per specific production instructions.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Must be trained and familiar with general safety.
Must be trained and familiar with Quality System Awareness.
