About The Position

This role involves applying and rolling initial layers of fiberglass and resin to hulls and decks. The position requires the use of rollers, brushes, and fiberglass guns to apply fiberglass and resin, and to eliminate bubbles. It also involves using small hand tools, light sanding and grinding, and maintaining a clean work area. The individual must be flexible, willing to cross-train, and follow instructions from management. A key part of the role is inspecting all parts to ensure they are complete and meet quality standards, while also complying with all OSHA and safety procedures.

  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to see and identify small quality defects.
  • Position requires repetitive arm, hand, and shoulder movements.
  • Fine motor skills required for multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment, including a respirator when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the different hulls and decks that are to be laminated.
  • Use rollers, brushes, and fiberglass guns.
  • Eliminate bubbles in fiberglass once it has been applied.
  • Use small hand tools, including scissors, razors knife, etc.
  • Light sanding and grinding of parts when necessary.
  • Must be flexible and willing to cross-train within the department.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Follow instructions of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead.
  • Inspects all parts so that they are complete and up to quality standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.
