Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ladle crane operation within a steelmaking facility
  • Strong knowledge of crane operations
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and ability to trouble shoot problems

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience preferred
  • Desire to share knowledge and skills with less experienced team members

Responsibilities

  • Operating a crane to transport liquid steel in a ladle to various locations as part of steelmaking operations
  • Maintain and monitor crane equipment to ensure proper and safe operation
  • Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of crane equipment
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise during the process
  • Accurately recording crane pre-inspections at the beginning of each shift and reporting any causes for concern to appropriate managers / maintenance crews
