About The Position

The Lactation Consultant is a Registered Nurse who, using critical thinking skills, directs, and evaluates patient care activities occurring within her/his assigned area of demonstrated clinical expertise. The LC must have the ability to lead and motivate professional and ancillary staff to develop their breastfeeding practice, knowledge and skill base, while coordinating with other members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care. LC will support plans, programs and schedules as directed by the lead lactation consultant. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Directs and evaluates patient care activities occurring within her/his assigned area of demonstrated clinical expertise
• Leads and motivates professional and ancillary staff to develop their breastfeeding practice, knowledge and skill base
• Coordinates with other members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care
• Supports plans, programs and schedules as directed by the lead lactation consultant
