About The Position

The Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional clinical care and management for breastfeeding infants and lactating mothers. The role develops, promotes, and implements lactation support services for clinical staff, patients, and community members, while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance. This is a full-time, day-shift position with Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• One year of training and program development experience.
• Valid New Mexico Nursing license or New Mexico compact license within 90 days of hire.
• Intensified training in lactation.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
• NRP certification.
• Current IBCLC certification or an IBCLC exam scheduled within one year from the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
