About The Position
UW Medical Center – Montlake has an opportunity for an experienced Lactation Consultant Nurse to join our Postpartum Unit. The Lactation Consultant serves as a support to pregnant and lactating parents and their infants.
Requirements
- Have/obtain a Washington State RN license to practice
- Two or more years of current/recent experience in nursing care of breastfeeding families.
- IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) certification.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or support a caseload of patients across the perinatal and breastfeeding continuum (assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation).
- Provide lactation services to patients on an as-needed basis, working with other care providers to triage need.
- Dedicated time for hospital-wide availability is provided.
- Direct care to lactating patients as needed.
- Availability to provide immediate resource to patients.
- Consultation to perinatal staff to assist in the lactation support of their patients.
Benefits
- BSN Premium $1.00/hr.
- Certification Premium $1.25/hr.
- Evening Differential $3.00/hour
