About The Position

Reporting to the Foreman, Labourers play a key role in supporting our crews on road construction, grading, and maintenance projects across Ft. McMurray. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position ideal for individuals who take pride in hands‑on work, value safety, and enjoy being part of a hardworking team that delivers high‑quality infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in road construction
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs in various weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions

Nice To Haves

• Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing will be required

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
• Perform general labour duties including raking, shoveling, lifting, and material handling
• Assist graders and other heavy equipment by clearing rocks, debris, and excess material ahead of passes
• Spread gravel, base, and other materials using hand tools
• Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment around the worksite
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (signs, cones, barricades); direct traffic when required
• Signal equipment operators to support safe and accurate movement of equipment
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free work areas
• Participate in daily safety meetings and actively contribute to the company’s safety culture
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion
