About The Position

For more than 70 years, Border Paving Ltd. has played a key role in building and maintaining Alberta's infrastructure. From highways and roadways to complex construction projects, our reputation has been built on quality workmanship, safety and long-standing relationships with our customers and the communities we work in. Working alongside Operators and Supervisors, Labourers are responsible for a wide range of physically demanding tasks in an outdoor construction environment. This role supports daily production activities, site preparation, material handling and general labour duties while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of our projects.

Requirements

Valid Class 5 Drivers License required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
Current driver's abstract required prior to hire

Nice To Haves

Class 3 and/or Q Endorsement (Airbrakes) are considered strong assets
Previous asphalt or construction experience is an asset

Responsibilities

Load, unload and move construction materials to support daily production
Prepare and maintain work areas to ensure efficient crew operations
Perform manual grading, digging and site preparation where equipment use is not practical
Operate small equipment such as rollers and skid steers once qualified
Follow Alberta Transportation Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones requirements
Perform daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance
Work with hot mix, cold mix asphalt and gravel materials
Assist with grading and slope control
Mark manholes and water valves as required
