About The Position

Axiom is seeking Labour & Employment Lawyers to advise clients at large companies across various industries. The ideal candidate will have experience advising employers on workplace matters, with a background in employee investigations, compensation/pension/benefits, general employment law, or labour relations. Experience in all areas is not required.

Requirements

4+ years of legal experience in one or more of the following areas: employee investigations; compensation, pension and benefits; general employment law; or labour relations, preferably with in-house experience
Experience advising employers and HR teams on workplace matters and applicable Ontario and Canadian employment and labour laws
Strong ability to provide practical legal guidance and work cross-functionally with HR and business stakeholders
Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel to employers on a range of labour, employment, and workplace matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, terminations, accommodations, leaves, and other employment issues.
Conduct or advise on workplace investigations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, retaliation, and other employee complaints.
Advise on compensation, pension, and benefits matters, including employment-related compensation programs, incentive arrangements, pension and retirement plans, and employee benefit programs.
Counsel employers on labour relations matters, which may include collective agreements, unionized workforces, grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and labour disputes.
Partner with HR, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and business leaders to identify and manage employment-related legal and regulatory risks.
