About The Position

MBG is seeking a Laborer to join their team. This role is responsible for a variety of tasks at job sites, including operating heavy equipment, cleaning and preparing job sites and warehouses, loading and delivering materials, using various tools and equipment, setting up and taking down temporary structures, and performing traffic control if necessary. The Laborer must maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring it is free of waste and debris daily. This position requires representing the company professionally to clients, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and government authorities, and following the direction of onsite leadership. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and in unheated or unconditioned buildings, requiring a strong understanding of job site safety. Relocation for project duration may be required.

Requirements

  • Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, endurance and flexibility to interact with diverse craft workers.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks.
  • Ability to understand and communicate information.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
  • Must at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Two to Five plus years experience.
  • Knowledgeable in construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret all construction related documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • No related degree preferred; equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered.
  • OSHA 10/ OSHA 30 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Cleaning and preparing the jobsite and warehouse.
  • Loading and delivering materials to jobsite and warehouse.
  • Use of a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.
  • Traffic control, if necessary.
  • Set up of markers, cones, barricades, and flag vehicles to control traffic.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Job site should be cleaned of waste debris on a daily basis.
  • Represent the company to the owner, architect, subcontractors, vendors and government authorities.
  • Follow direction of onsite Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Labor Foreman.
